Virgin Australia provides the facility of online check in and airport check in. At airport, you can check in using the kiosk machines or at the check in counter.

Virgin Australia Online Check in

The online check in facility is available for both domestic and international flights of Virgin Australia.

For domestic flights, the online check in opens 48 hours before and remains open up to 45 minutes before the departure time of flights.

For international flights (short haul and long haul), the web check in opens 24 hours before and remains open up to 90 minutes before scheduled departure time of flights. Online check in for international flight is not available for Port Moresby and Nadi airports. While online check in is allowed for international flights passengers, they are required to be present at check-in counters at airport for document validation.

How to do online check in on Virgin Australia?

1. Visit https://check-in.virginaustralia.com/checkin/#/login
2. Enter your booking reference/Velocity membership number or e-ticket number.
3. Provide the Last name and Departure Airport.
4. Checkout the various services you want to take and assign the available seats.
5. Get the boarding pass in your email. From there you can download it into your computer or mobile device.

Virgin Australia Airport Check In

For domestic flights, the check in time limit for closure is 30 minutes before scheduled departure of flights. It is recommended to drop off the check in bags at least 45 minutes before flight departure time. In case, there is a connecting international flight to catch, the bags shall be dropped off at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure of flight.

Kiosks are also available at Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Gold Coast for check-in facilitation. Passengers need to have 6 letter booking reference. They can make use of the kiosk for scanning the boarding pass from their mobile device and get it printed. Even the bag tags can be printed and then these are tied to the check-in bags before approaching the drop-off locations.
