Online Check-in: Lufthansa online check-in can be done from as early as 23 hours before departure time. The boarding pass is sent on the mobile number, whose print can be taken. This type of check-in is available for all routes of Lufthansa and Austrian Worldwide. It is also available LOT between Germany and Poland and vice versa. It is also available for Adria Airways and Croatia Airlines for departures from Germany, SWISS for departures from Germany, Tokyo, Vienna and Belgrade, SAS for departures from Germany, Dubai and Zagreb. TAP Portugal for departures from Germany (except for Berlin). This facility might not be available for checking in at all airports.

Machine based check-in: You can check-in using the Miles & More card, credit card, or customer card at the check-in machines kept at the airports. You have to scan machine readable ID card or passport and enter the flight number, booking reference number and destination for flight. These machines are present at the airport as well as at other destinations of Europe.

Mobile Check-in: Mobile check in is available beginning 23 hours before the scheduled departure of flight. You can get the Mobile Boarding Pass and reserve your seat. Boarding pass is sent to the email as well as by way of SMS.

Automated Check-in: This functionality is in-built in the Miles & More Profile and you have to choose whether you would like to receive mobile boarding pass by SMS or email and make seat reservation at the same time while making reservation of the seats. You can also deactivate the same at least 24 hours before your flight departure.
