China Eastern Airlines Frequent Flyer Program

Eastern Miles is the frequent flyer program of China Eastern Airlines. People of more than 12 years of age can sign up for its membership by enrolling on its website, using telephone, during the flight, using the mobile client (App) or by approaching its member office. Those of less 2- 12 years of age can join its Flying Explorer program through its website. Frequent flyer members can earn or redeem their points with the China Eastern Airline, its Skyteam members, other airline partners and the non-airline partners.

Level of Membership Status

There are two levels of membership status- Silver and Gold. Silver level is attained by earning 40000 points or flying 25 segments in the preceding 12 months. Gold level is attained by earning 80000 points or flying 40 segments.

Accrual of Points

Points accrue by way of Elite Qualification Points and Elite Qualifying Segments on certain flights. These are flights which codes MU, FM or KN which are operated by these carriers and have FFP arrangement with CEA.

Accrual depends on cabin and fare class of travel.

For China Eastern Airlines flights, the Only fare classes A/O/X/G/Z/Q are ineligible. Base points are 100 percent of the mileage flown on all fare classes except on the K/L/N/R/S/V/T fare classes of Economy cabin where 50 percent is accrued. Besides these standard accrual points, there are bonus points which can be earned. The bonus percentage also varies according to cabin class of travel. Adding standard accrual points and the bonus ones gives the EQPs. EQS also varies according to the class of travel from 3 to 1.

For Skyteam member airlines, the procedure for calculating the EQP and EQS remains the same except that the percentages could be different from the China Eastern flights. It also varied from one carrier to another.

For other partner airline flights, there are no EQPs or EQSs to be accrued. However, only redeemable points are accrued. These are calculated as a percentage of the miles flown.

Non-airline partners also have a well-defined way of points accrual.

Redemption

Redemption of the points can be done by way of award flights and upgrades on CEA, Skyteam member flights, other airline partners and the non-airline partners.

Flight awards on CEA can be availed as per the chart provided on the website of the carrier. These charts are different for domestic and the international travel.

Since we are not associated with any airline, we would request you to raise this with the airline directly. Airlines do have the provision wherein you can claim the points for the trips undertaken in past ( valid up to a certain period only).
