Qatar Airways Frequent Flyer Program

 

Priviledge Club is the frequent flyer program of Qatar Airways. This FFP offers 4 Tiers of membership-Burgundy, Silver, Gold and Platinum. You have to earn the required number of Qpoints to be able to move to the next higher level. Qpoints are earned on flights of Qatar Airways as well as those of oneworld alliance members.Qpoints are different from the Qmiles that are earned according to the miles earned which in turn depend on booking class of travel and sector of travel (details provided below).

Some basic points about the Qmiles first. These come with an expiry date. These expire twice in a year: by 30th June and 31 December. However the expiry dates can be extended or revalidated by paying a fee. Qmiles do not expire for Platinum members so long as they remain Platinum members.

However, it is the Qpoints which will determine the level of your membership. Qpoints are counted on daily basis and the member who is able to get threshold number of these points in the last 12 month period are automatically upgraded to the next tier of membership. These can be earned on flights operated or marketed by either Qatar Airways or any oneworld member.

There is an additional condition for the qualification to move to the next tier. You are required to earn at least 20 percent of Qpoints or flown at least 4 sectors on flights either marketed or operated by Qatar Airways.

Qmiles are earned on Qatar Airways partners as well, such as oneworld Alliance members, Airlines, Banks and Credit card companies, Car rental companies, Hotels and Travel service providers.

Benefits of being a Privilege Club member

There are a range of benefits for the members of different Tier levels. These include the Tier bonuses, family accrual of points, priority boarding and check in, lounge access, discounts in redemption of Qpoints and many more. Redeeming Qmiles

Flights and Upgrades on Qatar Airways- applicable on 130+ destinations. Flexi Awards can also be availed during peak season with double miles redemption. Easy Deals is another program that redeems Qmiles up to 50% less. Infants not allowed upgrades to Business or First Class.

Award Flights on oneworld members (those who have partnered with Privilege Club FFP)- There are different number of Qmiles required for each of the cabin class of travel for Award flights on partner airlines. Infant not allowed award miles.

Shop and Pay Qmiles program enables you to shop at Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport and at Oryx Galleria- an exclusive boutique for Privilege Club members.

Another way of redemption is by way of Excess Baggage Awards. Gold and Platinum members are able to use this method of redemption. They also have the option of choosing either the Qcredits or Qmiles for this purpose.
