Air India Alliances and Partners

Air India is having code-share partner airlines which allow it to have deeper and extensive outreach to various destinations around the world.

The codeshare agreement is with Air India Express, Turkish Airlines, Ethiopian Airways, Egypt Air, Lufthansa, Air Mauritius, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, Asiana, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Airlines and Kuwait Airways.Air Astana is a new codeshare partner.

Besides this, there are codeshare gateways on specific routes and specific airline partners for these routes. These connections are India Via Vienna, Frankfurt, Singapore, Addis Ababa, Johannesburg and Moscow and the connecting flights are operated by Austrian, Lufthansa, Singapore, Ethiopian, South African and Aeroflot airlines respectively. London Via New York is operated by Kuwait Airways.

Air India became a member of Star Alliance in July 2014.

i am travelling business class from chennai via singapore by the star alliance partners Air India and United Airlines. I would like to know the baggage allowance that i am allowed to carry.

When one has an International ticket to Delhi and then takes a domestic flight, is one charged extra for baggage? I traveled from US to New Delhi by Air India and then took a domestic flight to Cochin. They charged me for excess baggage for the domestic flight. As I was coming from abroad should I have paid?

Admin Reply :

If different tickets were booked on Air India, then airline would have charged. However, if ticket booked provided for connection of Air India, then it would not have been charged.

Please confirm as to whether AIR INDIA has code sharing arrangement with DELTA AIRLINES for traveling between NEW YORK and SAN FRANCISCO
