Air France merged with KLM, the Dutch airliner, in 2004 and the new entity Air France-KLM was incorporated under the French law.

Air France is a member of the Skyteam Alliance. The alliance connects the world by flying 15000 flights on daily basis to 187 countries around the world and 1000 destinations. The carrier has 33 airline partners. The carrier is also associated with a number of hotels and car rental companies for the benefit of total comfort of its passengers and for the purpose of earning and spending the miles of its frequent flyer program.

It has codeshare agreement with about 24 airlines of the world.
