Etihad Airways Frequent Flyer Program

(Updated: 06-03-2018)

Etihad Guest is the frequent flyer program of Etihad Airlines.

How to join or enrol in program?

You can be an Etihad Guest by simply filling out the registration form at check-in desks, on-board the flights, at Etihad lounges and at ticketing offices around the world.

You can also fill the enrolment form online at: www.etihadguest.com.

Enrolment bonus of 500 miles is awarded to passengers who fly on Etihad Airways, Air Seychelles or Air Serbia.

Membership Tiers

To move to next higher level of membership, passenger is required to accumulate required Tier Miles or Tier Segments within a rolling 12-month period. This gives required flexibility to move up the Tier level.

Etihad Guest Silver   25,000 Tier Miles or 20 Tier Segments
Etihad Guest Gold   50,000 Tier Miles or 40 Tier Segments
Etihad Guest Platinum   125,000 Tier Miles or 60 Tier Segments

Once a level is attained, following miles or points are required to attain the membership status-

Etihad Guest Silver  20,000 Tier Miles or 15 Tier Segments
Etihad Guest Gold 40,000 Tier Miles or 30 Tier Segments
Etihad Guest Platinum  100,000 Tier Miles or 48 Tier Segments

Guest Miles Vs Tier Miles

Etihad Guest miles are different from Tier Miles. The former can be earned and redeemed while the latter are counted only towards determining membership status of the flyer.

Etihad Tier segments also count towards determination of membership status. Economy class flight earns you 1 Tier Segment whereas Business and First Class earns you 2 and 3 Tier Segments respectively.

Earning the Miles

You will be earning the Etihad Guest Miles (EGMs) every time you fly with Etihad or its 24 partner airlines or spend with the non-airline partners. The non-airline partners are hotels, financial companies, car rental companies, co-branded cards, shopping, leisure and lifestyle companies, telecom companies, promotional activities and through the Earn Shop and the Earn Mall avenues. EGMs earned depend on cabin and fare class traveled.

Etihad has shifted its Guest Miles earning system from miles flown to price-based one. The new earning scheme is given below:

Another feature that has been introduced for the first time is that facility of locking in the exchange rate is provided for transfering funds to a foreign currency wallet. Your miles would be known by you only by logging in at https://www.etihadguest.com/en/login/ .

Yes, you can use these miles to get excess baggage allowance and for flight upgrades to business class. To know how much of luggage you can carry extra, please enter the details at: http://www.rewards.etihadguest.com/eyloyrewards/productdetails.do?productCode=PRD11330&selectedSearchBrand=RXRpaGFkIEFpcndheXM%3D&selectedSortType=NAME .

For 2 extra bags, you would need 38,888 miles from Abu Dhabi to Chicago.

You can also upgrade your class of travel but for this to happen, you need to have sufficient miles in your account. From AD to Chicago, miles required are:

From Coral Economy to Pearl Business

56200 Etihad Guest miles if booked in Y,B,H,K,M,Q classes.

70250 Etihad Guest miles if booked in L,U,V,E classes

You can check this at : http://www.etihadguest.com/en/spend-miles/mileage-calculator/

Also, you are required to contact the Etihad Guest Service Centres for the same. Upgrades can also be had at the airport check in counters provided there are sufficient miles in your account, there is sufficient time and there is a seat available. It would be best to secure it online well before your travel date.
