If we travel from Sydney to Vietnam. In business class and have a suitcase weighing 20 kegs and a set of golf clubs weighing 15 kegs is this in our baggage allow can

Admin Reply :

Travelling business class entitles you to a check-in baggage allowance of 40 kg and cabin baggage allowance of 7 kg. And, the airline allows carriage of one golf set per passenger within your allowance limits. Yours is within the allowance limits, so nothing more needs to be paid.

Sir/Madam, I have just booked a flight with you from London Heathrow to Perth via Bangkok on the 25th October. Iam on the 1230 light leaving Heathrow. Iam emigrating to Australia and I wanted to enquiry whether there is the potential to be allowed an additional 10kg added to my baggage allowance (up to 40kg). I am aware that other airlines offer this and would be grateful if Thai airlines would allow the same. Regards Kevin Hemmings

Admin Reply :

Please get in touch with the airline directly for this purpose as this information is not available in public domain. You can certainly add more baggage on payment of excess baggage fee. However, if you want it for free, please get in touch with the airline.

Hi. I want to travel from Germany to Bali, via Bangkok. My total luggage is 40kg, which includes 10kg diving equipment. I read on the website, that there is a flat rate for dive equipment, with a unit (10KG) price (flat rate) of 150€. I also read, that it is possible to take extra 1.5kg in an additional hand luggage bag with a computer or similar. My questions: 1: Is it true that there is a special rate for diving equipment which is lower then the normal $60US. 2: If so, I could not find a place on the website where to book it. Could you help? 3: Is it possible to take a second hand luggage bag that only contains computer and weighs up to 1.5kg?

Admin Reply :

Scuba diving equipment can be carried as a part of your free check in baggage allowance, within free allowancce of size and weight limits. If it exceeds free allowance, USD 150 is charged. Additional personal laptop bag can be carried in cabin but it must be a standard laptop bag. You shall contact the local Thai airways office

How does it work for the 2nd and 3rd baggage? Will there be additional charges? If so, can you tell me how much each will be? And what's Thai Airways max weight for luggages? Look forward to your response. Thank you!

My wife and I are traveling on Thai Airways from London to Jakarta via Bangkok on 30th September and will be taking veterinary supplies for a UK-based orangutan rescue charity - This charity was set up to help endangered orangutans in Borneo and we will be delivering the veterinary items to two rescue centres in October so I would like to know it Thai Airways would allow us extra luggage allowance so that we can take these items free of charge. This would be a great help to the charity. Thank you in anticipation.

Hi, I am flying from Bangkok to Boston in 2 bookings: Booking1 : From Bangkok-Delhi with Thai Airways : economy class Booking2 : Delhi-Toronto with Air Canada: Business Class Toronto-Boston with United Airways: Business Class I have 2 questions: 1. Will I get Business Luggage allowance for Booking 1 as well? Would Booking2 be considered MSC? 2. Will I be able to check the luggage through in Delhi? or Do I have to get out and check-in again? Thank you very much

Admin Reply :

You will have to recheck in at Delhi airport. Wr.t. baggage allowance, you will get free allowance if airline provides it on each sector, depending on their policies. Since baggage allowance policies depend on a number of factors in case of multiple carriers, and do not have required information to guide you, we would request you to contact Thai Airways for this matter.

Secondly, i want to know my baggage is exceeding only 1.5 kg. So, is it acceptable or they will charge me for that extra weight.

Admin Reply :

Student baggage allowance is not available on your route. They will charge for excess weight.

On you route, allowance is 30 kg in economy class in check-in baggage, and 7 kg in cabin per passenger. Size of check in bag shall not be more than 158cm in sum of dimensions and size of cabin bag shall not be more than 115 cm in sum of dimensions. Admin Reply :

Airline does not have a problem with the carriage of phones and laptops. But, we can not say about the other authorities at the airport, such as security, customs, etc. In cabin only one laptop is allowed apart from cabin baggage. Phones can be taken either in cabin baggage or in check in baggage.

I am going to study abroad in China . My flight is from India,CCU to Shanghai(PVG) (Economy Class) with 30kg baggage allowance. I wonder if Thai Airways has extra student baggage allowance?

Admin Reply :

Special baggage allowance for students from India is for destinations in Australia and New Zealand, not China. From any online Thai Airways station in India, there is a Special Baggage Allowance of 40 kg for students to Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in Australia and Auckland in New Zealand.

I started my flight on business class United Flight, to Australia. I am leaving Australia tomorrow, on Thai Airlines, then switching to Ethiopian with destination Dar Es Salam, TZ. I was allowed 2 70 lb bags coming to Australia. Will I be allowed 2 70 lb bags on Thai also since United is the Marketing airlines?

Admin Reply :

Was it a return ticket booked on United? If yes, then its baggage allowance rules would apply to itinerary. However, we would still suggest you to get this confirmed with the United airline office from you point of departure on return leg (Australia).

Normally, airlines do allow carriage of human ashes after completion of certain formalities. For this we would suggest you seek help from local office of the airline. Guitar is best carried in check in baggage. Musical instruments of up to 39 inches are considered a part of free check in baggage allowance and are not charged for  if these are within permitted allowance by weight.

I have booked a flight using united miles from bangalore India all the way to Chicago USA. Thai airways airline from bangalore to Bangkok to Seoul. Then from Seoul to Chicago is asiana airlines. This was all booked under one booking. How many checked bags can I have on Thai airways and what is the total weight allowed?

Admin Reply :

Even if the booking is one, different allowance rules may apply. This depends on a number of factors. We would suggest that you get in touch with local Thai Airways office for this. They would need your booking details to tell whether one airline baggage allowance rule would apply or different ones for each of these airlines.

Hello. I am travelling from Heathrow to Phnom Penh tonight via Bangkok. My e-ticket states that I can take 30kg, but one bag cannot weigh more than 23kg. Is this correct? Do I need to take multiple bags (e.g. One with 23kg and one with 7kg, for checked in baggage, plus my separate hand luggage), or can I ignore this and simply put 30kg in one checked in luggage bag?

Admin Reply :

No, for weight-based baggage allowances, one check in bag shall not be more than 32 kg. What you are mentioning is applicable on piece- based baggage allowance rules.

With this message, I have a few questions to ask you regarding baggage. I am going to fly from Japan to Cambodia. The total weight of economy class is 30 kg. As I checked in the website, it stated unclear about the number of baggage, only all combined pieces of baggage is 30 kg. Could you please let me know the number of baggage I could check in, except carry on? My case is that I have two baggage with total weight 30 kg- one baggage is 20 kg and another is 10 kg. Highly thank you.

Admin Reply :

There is no restriction on the number of check in bags to be carried on route where allowance is determined on the basis of weight of luggage. So, you can bring more than one check in bag. It is okay to have two check in bags of 20 kg and 10 kg in economy.

Hi. Im traveling from Melbourne to Bangkok, then Bangkok to Tokyo, then Tokyo to Beijing and from Beijing to USA. Each flight with different airlines. The maximum allowance with one of those airlines is 2 pieces of 23 kg. That allowance for baggage apply in my flight with Thai Airways? Thanks a lot.

Admin Reply :

It is not necessary that Thai Airways baggage allowances would apply on other routes when travelling with different airlines. Therefore, you must seek information from you ticketing agency or from Thai airways. For each route, either the First Marketing Carrier or the Most Significant Carrier rules might apply which will make the allowances different.

Hi dear. I want ask to u that my wife got thai airline ticket economy class from delhi international airport to bankok and then bankok to new Zealand. In the ticket showing there are total 30 kg allowed and plus 7 kg hand bag. But travel agent told me that you can carry total 47 kg luggage. Like 2 pieces 20 kg and 7 kg 1 hand bag. So can u plz tell what is the acctual weight she can carry on with her. Thank u

Admin Reply :

You need to check whether you have booked economy class or premium economy class ticket. Economy class is allowed 30 kg check in baggage whereas premium economy is allowed 40 kg in check in. Cabin allowance is 7 kg in both fare classes. If it is 40 kg check in baggage, then 2 check in bags have to be taken since one check in bag can not be more than 32 kg in weight.

You are not allowed to take more than 32 kg in one check in bag, therefore, you can not take 35 kg in one check in bag.

USD 10 per excess kg is the charge towards excess baggage. You are allowed to carry TVs of size which are allowed under the check in baggage policy. If it exceeds 158 cms but not 203 cms, then excess charges have to be paid. But if it exceeds 203 cms then you need to first get confirmation from TG, You can details at
