IndiGo has not joined Star Alliance, oneworld or SkyTeam. It works with other airlines through codeshare agreements instead. In a codeshare, you buy a ticket with one airline, the marketing carrier, but a second airline, the operating carrier, flies you. The page below sets out who the partners are and how those bookings differ from an ordinary IndiGo ticket.

How codeshare bookings work
- The airline's own site and app mark codeshare flights plainly. Your itinerary names the airline that operates each leg.
- One booking holds at most four customers. Groups cannot book codeshare seats. Only Economy can be booked.
- Using the contact centre or an airport counter costs INR 400 more per customer.
- Rebooking or cancelling is possible online, in the app or by phone.
- Only airport check-in is possible. Go to the counters of the carrier flying you, following the signs.
- Bags are tagged through to your final stop when you connect to a partner flight.
- Refunds for no-shows are handled by IndiGo's customer service on request.
Baggage, seats and meals on codeshare flights
- Hand baggage: one piece up to 7 kg, plus a laptop case or purse of up to 3 kg.
- Checked baggage: the allowance on the marketing airline's e-ticket applies. Extra baggage is charged at the partner's rate, so ask the partner airline.
- A domestic booking made inside the same reservation as an international trip gets the international allowance.
- Seat selection follows the partner's rules; contact them. IndiGo's own seat selection works only on its own flights.
- IndiGo flights serve a free snack bag and sell other food; on a partner's aircraft, meals depend on that airline. Special meals can be requested at booking or through the contact centre.
- Neither Fast Forward nor priority boarding is sold on these flights, and the Student Fare gives no extra baggage.
Help, delays and special services
- When a partner-operated leg is late or cancelled, follow the operating airline's rules. IndiGo says it works with partners to keep passengers informed.
- Wheelchair help can be requested at booking or through the contact centre. Stretcher bookings and Unaccompanied Minor care cannot be made on codeshare tickets.
- International codeshare trips may need visas and customs forms, so check each country on your route.
- For a flight IndiGo flies for Qatar Airways, your booking may not show in the operating system until about two days before take-off.
- A GST invoice is issued for IndiGo-marketed codeshare bookings on travel starting in India.
Loyalty on partner flights
- Members of IndiGo BluChip collect points on IndiGo-marketed codeshare flights at the usual rate. BluChips cannot be spent on flights that a partner operates.
- See the Frequent Flyer page for the programme.
