Malaysia Airlines, through MHguardian, helps travellers who have limited mobility, expectant mothers and children travelling alone. Tell the airline about any need when you book, or at least 48 hours before travel.

Wheelchairs and disability help
- Ask for a wheelchair two days or more ahead through the Global Customer Contact Centre, a ticket office or an appointed travel agent. The service is free, but the airline cannot promise it for later requests.
- Wheelchair and Meet and Assist: at KLIA, go straight to check-in counters B1 or B2; elsewhere, go to the assistance desk. Staff help through immigration, customs and security, to the gate, and on arrival from the aircraft to the arrival gate.
- Senior travellers aged 60 and over, alone or with a companion, may request either service two days ahead.
- Disabled travellers who present an OKU card at booking receive a discount on Malaysian domestic flights, with MASwings and promotional fares excluded.
- Your own wheelchair or other assistive device travels free and does not use your baggage allowance.
- A passenger may be asked to bring an attendant, at their own cost, if safety needs it, if they cannot help in an evacuation, or cannot follow safety instructions.
- Some conditions need medical clearance: submit the Medical Information Form (MEDIF), completed by your doctor, to the MEDA desk (meda@malaysiaairlines.com). An approved MEDIF holds for 20 days. Portable oxygen concentrators need approval, FAA approval for use on board, and enough battery for one and a half times the journey.
- Stretcher travel is offered in Economy only, with a MEDIF submitted ten working days or more beforehand, and a medical escort. Infant incubators are carried on journeys of 3 hours or less.

- Pregnant passengers cannot sit in an emergency-exit seat.
- A mother and baby in the first seven days after delivery are not recommended to fly. Some countries limit entry for pregnant foreign women, so check with the consulate.

- Arrange it at the time of ticketing, by calling the airline or at a ticket office, and complete the UMNR Handling Service Form. Bring four copies for a direct trip, five or six with transit points.
- Give the name and details of the adult who drops off and the one who collects, and sign the indemnity declaration.
- Staff take the child from check-in to the gate and hand them to the cabin crew; on arrival, ground staff take them via immigration and bag collection to the named adult. Responsibility starts an hour and a half before take-off, and the parent must stay contactable until take-off.
- Not available if a stop on the journey lasts over 24 hours, unless an adult will collect the child there. Children aged 12 to under 15 may not escort a younger minor without an adult of 18 or over.
- Seats are limited, and unaccompanied children may not take an exit row. With other airlines, check their rules first.

You can seek a paid service of Unaccompanied Minor from the airline. This service ensures that one of the airline staff member is able to take the child custody from airport from you and then gives the child's custody to the designated person at the arrival airport. please check the details of this service with the airline.
There is no service as such by airline which can take care of kids accompanying a passenger. This is only for the unaccompanies minors.
I am little worried for my mother who is travelling from Kathmandu to Tokyo (NRT) via Kuala Lampur. She can't speak or read English or Malaya. She needs somebody to pick her from air-bridge and take to the next departure gate. I came to know Malaysian airlines offers "Meet and Assist" service to disabled persons but I don't have any experience of it. Could you provide this service to us?

Our parents are coming to Australia first time and their transit is in Malaysia. They do not have good knowledge in English and cannot communicate in English. You can seek the assitance directly from airline by contacting them on phone and providing your PNR number.
It will be allowed for free. Generally, airlines do provide wheelchair assistance on-ground and in flight. You can contact the local office of Malaysian for this purpose.

You shall seek the Porter service from the airport. This type of assistance is provided by airport authorities, not the airlines. Airlines provided this type of service for the unaccompanied minors.
