This article once listed airports with Emirates web check-in. The airline no longer publishes a list like that. Instead it sets one group of rules for the flights it operates itself, summarised below.
Timing and eligibility
- The window opens two days (48 hours) ahead of the scheduled departure.
- It shuts an hour and a half (90 minutes) before departure for passengers with e-tickets.
- If your trip begins on a flight run by another airline, the Emirates tool will not work. Codeshare flights not operated by Emirates fall here. When Qantas runs your first flight, use Qantas's own check-in.
- Up to nine travellers, adults and children, can be handled in one session if they share an itinerary.
What to have ready
- The booking reference from the e-ticket.
- Each traveller's surname.
- Passport and visa details for Advance Passenger Information, if your destination demands them.
Walk-through
- Open the online check-in page and enter a surname with the booking reference.
- Tick the travellers to check in.
- Adjust seats or add Skywards numbers, then complete the check-in.
- Save the mobile boarding pass in the Emirates app, on your phone or in your wallet app.
Then at the airport
- Bags still have to be handed in, either at a self-service kiosk or at a desk. Everyone travelling must be present, since nobody can drop bags for someone else.
- Plan to arrive three hours ahead at most airports; some ask for four. The ticket shows the advised time.
- Dubai departures can leave bags the day before (24 hours ahead), or 12 hours before a US flight.
- Clear passport control and security by 90 minutes before departure.
