This page used to show how many Club Vistara points were needed to upgrade to a higher cabin on Vistara. Vistara joined Air India, and Air India's own pages say the frequent flyer programmes of the two airlines were merged into one programme, called Maharaja Club. The Club Vistara upgrade chart therefore no longer applies and we have removed it.
What replaced it
- Maharaja Club has four tiers, with more benefits at each.
- You earn Maharaja Points and Tier Points when you fly Air India, Air India Express or any of 25 Star Alliance partner airlines, plus Points on hotel stays, car rental and purchases with over 100 partners.
- Points do not expire while the account is active.
Cabin upgrades
Air India says you can redeem Maharaja Points for cabin upgrades, for yourself or for friends and family, on Air India and on Star Alliance partner flights. The number of Points depends on the route and the cabin, and the cost is shown when you search for your flight while logged in.
Other points
- Logged-in members get member-only fares and bonus Points for booking on Air India's own website or app.
- From 30 September 2026 members can buy up to 200,000 Points.
- Higher tiers add lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, and extra baggage allowance.
- A Family Pool lets relatives share rewards.
For award tickets see our note on award flights after the merger.
