Ryanair tickets are generally non-refundable. If your flight operated and you did not travel, you are not entitled to a refund, because the seat flew empty.

When you can get a refund
- Ryanair cancels the flight, fails to operate it reasonably on schedule, or denies you boarding, under the applicable passenger rights rules.
- Your flight is delayed by at least 5 hours.
- An immediate family member who is not travelling with you dies within 10 days before the flight, or someone on your booking dies before the trip.
How and how fast
- If you booked directly on ryanair.com and are entitled to a refund after a disruption, it arrives in your Ryanair Wallet within 24 hours; choose to transfer it and it reaches your original payment method within 5 working days.
- If you booked through an online travel agent, verify your details with the customer verification form first; this takes longer.
- Track a request in myRyanair under My Support Cases.
- Refunds cover only what Ryanair received: travel extras such as car hire, hotels and parking paid to third parties must be claimed from those suppliers.
Delays and cancellations
- Delay of 2 hours or more on shorter flights, or 3 hours or more on longer ones: meals and, if needed, a hotel with transfers. You can wait, be rerouted, or change the flight free. Keep receipts for reasonable costs if Ryanair cannot give care.
- Compensation under EU261: EUR 250 for 1,500 km or less; EUR 400 for intra-EU flights over 1,500 km and other flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km; EUR 600 for longer non-EU flights. It depends on the cause and is not paid when the cause is beyond the airline's control, such as ATC strikes or severe weather.
- Rescheduled flights and cancellations announced more than 14 days or less than 14 days ahead are treated differently under the rules.
