Emirates sells tickets on emirates.com and its app, through its contact centres and offices, and through travel agents. All tickets are electronic, and each traveller, including children and infants, gets an individual ticket. For codeshare flights, see the Alliances and Partners page.
Cabins and who counts as which passenger
- Adult
- 12 and over on most booking pages
- Teenager
- 12 to 15 where the booking page shows the category; flies on an adult fare and may fly alone
- Child
- 2 to 11. A child alone, or seated in a different cabin from the parents, counts as an Unaccompanied Minor and pays the adult fare. Phone Emirates to book that service.
- Infant
- Under 2, held on a lap. Each adult may take one infant, and the adult must be 16 or older. To pay for a separate infant seat, contact Emirates.
Cabins on sale: Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First. Up to nine people can be booked together online, counting adults, children and infants.
Booking tips
- You can buy up to 328 days ahead. Online payment by card, PayPal or real-time bank transfer works up to two hours before departure.
- Searching is free; Emirates asks for payment details only when you book. Tick the flexible-dates option to see prices three days either side, or use the previous-day and next-day links.
- Advanced search handles multi-city trips and stopovers, for instance a Dubai stop between London and Sydney.
- Promotional codes are seven letters and must be entered at the start of the booking.
- The fare shown is valid only if you pay in the country of departure. Taxes or fees added by a country can appear at ticketing or at the airport.
- Unpaid reservations to be settled at an Emirates office are cancelled after three days.
- Card surcharges apply on credit card, PayPal or Visa Checkout payments for flights leaving New Zealand (1.5% of each passenger's ticket above NZD 100, capped at NZD 70) and Türkiye (USD 5 on payments over USD 200). Debit cards and infants are exempt, and the surcharge is refundable for unused tickets.
- Emirates Pay lets you pay from your bank account without a card.
Hold My Fare
- Reserve an Economy fare for 24 hours at no cost, then pay later from Manage Booking.
- Available up to 24 days before the flight, for Emirates-operated flights only.
- Not available for Skywards Classic Rewards, Cash+Miles, Business Rewards, special offers, codeshare or interline bookings. Anything else in your basket, such as insurance, is removed.
After you book
- A booking reference and the e-ticket come by email. Bring your passport to check-in.
- A misspelt name can be fixed until the first flight, and a legally changed name can be updated later. Tickets are not transferable.
- Changes, refunds and credit notes are covered on the Refunds page.
- In some countries the card holder must be a traveller or share a surname with one, and may need to show the card at check-in. Skywards members can book reward flights for friends and family.
