Additional, oversized and overweight bags
Air France sells these as baggage options. Prices are shown while you book and depend on your route, so they are not listed here.
Additional baggage
- When you can buy it

- Limits
- 158 cm; 23 kg in Economy and Premium, 32 kg in Business and La Première. Up to 10 bags per passenger (3 on some aircraft).
Overweight baggage
- When you can buy it
- At the airport only, at the baggage drop-off.
- Limits
- Over the weight in your fare, up to 32 kg. Above 32 kg, use Air France Cargo.
Oversized baggage
- When you can buy it
- Airport only, at the dedicated Oversized Baggage desk.
- Limits
- Over 158 cm and up to 300 cm. Above 300 cm, use Air France Cargo.
Pay with a bank card at the airport, since some counters have stopped taking cash. Carrying more than 3 bags per passenger may need sales department approval.

Bicycles, folding bikes and tandems travel in the hold only, with prior approval at least 48 hours ahead. Electric bikes travel without their battery, and lithium batteries over 160 Wh are not allowed. Remove or fold the pedals, take off the front wheel, turn the handlebars parallel to the frame and pack the bike in a cardboard box or hard plastic. Bike boxes (175 x 21.5 x 86 cm) are sold at most Air France check-in counters. A fee is paid at the airport.

Rates are one way for one carrier or kennel. With a connection, the rate depends on your departure country and final destination. Amounts are in EUR from Europe, CAD from Canada, and USD from the United States and other countries. Your pet needs the vaccines and documents required by each country on the trip, and a microchip and EU pet passport within the EU. If you travel with a dog to the United States, book at least 48 hours ahead (96 hours for service dogs from or to the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates).
Connecting flights
Where part of your trip is on another airline, its baggage rules may differ, so follow the strictest policy over the whole journey. Flying Premium, Business or La Première on a connection, or leaving the United States, puts your cabin baggage under US TSA rules, which allow 1 hand baggage item and 1 small bag. Duty-free purchases may travel in a sealed bag, but you cannot pass through a public area at the connecting airport while keeping them.

Baggage Allowance is an independent information site and is not part of Air France.
5 questions and answers
We could not get a reliable reply from KLM. However, as per the general trend, it is customary to allow higher baggage allowance for all sectors on same PNR.
If you have total baggage of 60 kg check in for 4 passengers, then the domestic IndiGo flights will allow its carriage in 23+23+14 free of cost (since each bag is less than 32 kg weight). Nothing extra to be paid.
Please provide the route information in order to know the excess baggage rates.
Please inform us about the cabin class of travel.

Umbrellas are personal items and these are generally allowed to be carried inside the cabin free of cost in addition to the cabin luggage.
