Cabin baggage

Each traveller gets one small cabin bag, stored under the seat, at no charge. A second, large cabin bag is available if it is included in your fare or membership, or if you pay to add it. The most you can bring is two cabin bags.

Small under-seat bag

Maximum size
45 x 36 x 20 cm, including handles and wheels
Maximum weight
15 kg
Who can bring it
Every customer, free. It has to go beneath the seat ahead.

Large cabin bag

Maximum size
56 x 45 x 25 cm, including handles and wheels
Maximum weight
15 kg
Who can bring it
Customers who add it to their booking (includes Speedy Boarding), easyJet Plus members, and Inclusive Plus fares. It must fit in the overhead locker.
  • The small bag can be a small trolley case, handbag, rucksack or laptop bag, as long as it fits the size limit. Whatever you bring, you must manage to lift and carry it.
  • easyJet Plus members without a paid large cabin bag, and those on the Inclusive Plus fare, may take a large cabin bag if room allows; otherwise it travels in the hold.
  • Add the large cabin bag online and it costs less than at the gate, where the price is £60.

Hold luggage

The basic fare has no hold luggage. Every customer, children and infants too, may take as many as three hold bags.

  • Bag sizes: you choose a 15 kg bag, a 23 kg standard bag or a bag up to 32 kg, and may buy added weight online in 3 kg steps. No single bag may weigh more than 32 kg.
  • Size limit: the total of length + width + height must be under 275 cm.
  • Pooling: travellers sharing a flight and booking may combine their weight allowance across bags, provided no single item passes 32 kg. Hold bags and sports gear cannot share weight.

Adding hold luggage

  • Add it online or through the easyJet app while booking, or in Manage Bookings up to 120 minutes before departure, even after online check-in (print your boarding passes again).
  • Hold luggage bought online covers every flight in the booking. To cover a single leg, make the outbound and return two separate bookings, or buy a bag at the bag drop desk at the airport.
  • At the airport, the bag drop desk fee is £60. A bag beyond your allowance is sent to the hold and charged the same fee.
  • If a bag is over your allowance at the airport you also pay a fee for each extra kilogram.

Smart luggage

If a bag holding a lithium battery or power bank is checked, the battery must come out and be disconnected. Keep the battery with you in the cabin, with exposed terminals taped. If you cannot remove it, the bag is not accepted.

Sports equipment

Each adult, child and infant with their own seat can add one piece of sports equipment, in addition to their hold luggage. Online, a booking is capped at 6 large sports items. Ask Customer Services to add more, at no charge, subject to space. Sports gear and hold luggage cannot share weight. Sports equipment bought is not refundable. You can add it online or in the app when booking, in Manage Bookings or at online check-in, or at the airport or through Customer Services for a little more.

Questions travellers ask us

How big is the easyJet cabin bag?

The free under-seat bag is 45 x 36 x 20 cm. A paid large cabin bag is 56 x 45 x 25 cm. Both can weigh up to 15 kg.

Is a hold bag included?

No. A 15 kg, 23 kg or 32 kg bag is picked at booking, and each person may take up to three.

How much does it cost at the airport?

A bag at the bag drop desk costs £60, and so does a large cabin bag taken to the gate. Buying online beforehand is always cheaper.

Can I share baggage weight with my family?

Yes, for travellers on one flight and booking, so long as no bag tops 32 kg. Sports gear cannot join the pool.

I'm trying to book an easy jet flight to Pisa for 2 couples.
Can I book in 1 hold bag between the 4 of us. Website books 1 bag per person.
    1. Answer

You have not mentioned the boarding station. Anyways, if your baggage allowance is in number of pieces then the hold luggage can not be clubbed. However, if the allowance is in weight per person, then it can be clubbed with the condition that all people shall be ticketed on same pnr and total weight of any one check in bag shall not be more than 32 kg.
