SkyMiles is Delta's loyalty programme. Medallion status is based only on Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs).

- Status for 2027 comes from spending in the 2026 calendar year and lasts until 31 January 2028. MQDs reset each year and do not roll over.
- MQDs accrue at one dollar per dollar of ticket price on Delta-marketed flights, partner-operated ones included (taxes and fees excluded), and per dollar of a Delta Vacations package. Basic Economy (Main Basic) fares earn neither miles nor MQDs.
- Eligible Delta SkyMiles Platinum, Platinum Business, Reserve and Reserve Business American Express cards give a $2,500 MQD Headstart per card type each year, and MQD Boost: $1 for every $20 spent (Platinum cards) or $10 (Reserve cards).
- After flying one million miles, you receive annual complimentary Medallion status.
- Baggage fee waiver: it covers Delta, China Southern and SkyTeam partner flights, and up to 8 companions on the same reservation (9 passengers total) on Delta-operated flights, other than departures from Paris and Amsterdam; excess, oversize and overweight fees can still apply.
