Every passenger on a Jetstar domestic flight within Japan needs valid identification, including children and infants who travel with an adult. This update follows Jetstar's current help page for those flights.
Accepted photo ID
- A Juki card with photo (the Basic Resident Register Card)
- A passport
- A driver's licence
- Photo identification issued by the government
- Student identification
If you have no photo ID
Jetstar accepts either of these in its place:
- Official documents such as a pension booklet or a copy of your residence certificate
- The credit card that you used to buy the fare
What changed since the earlier version
The earlier version of this article also allowed a health insurance card for children travelling with a parent. That is no longer on Jetstar's list, so it has been removed. Bring a document from the lists above.
International flights and Vietnam
We did not re-check Jetstar's rules for international flights or for domestic flights in Vietnam. For international trips a passport is the normal requirement, and other documents depend on the destination country, so check with its embassy. Read Jetstar's help pages for Vietnam on the Jetstar Pacific site before you fly there.
