The earlier version of this article pointed to an image listing the check-in deadlines for flights outside the United States. Below is the same information as text, taken from Delta's own page.
General rule for international departures
| Step | Time before departure |
|---|---|
| Suggested time at the airport | 3 hours |
| Required minimum to be checked in | 1 hour |
| Suggested time at the gate | 45 minutes |
Airports with a longer minimum
Some airports need the check-in and security steps finished earlier. Delta will not check you in after the time shown below. The minimum is the same for passengers with and without bags unless noted.
| Airport | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Accra (ACC) | 120 minutes (Delta advises arriving 4 hours ahead) |
| Athens (ATH) | 120 minutes |
| Dakar (DSS), Lagos (LOS), Marrakech (RAK), Providenciales (PLS), St. Lucia (UVF) | 90 minutes |
| Aruba (AUA), Bermuda (BDA), Brussels (BRU), Dublin (DUB), Frankfurt (FRA), Naples (NAP), Nassau (NAS) | 75 minutes (advised arrival: 4 hours at Dublin, 3.5 hours at Naples) |
| Montreal (YUL), Vancouver (YVR), Calgary (YYC), Toronto (YYZ) | 75 minutes |
If an airport is not in the list, use the general rule above. Delta stresses that all of these are guidelines that can change with the airport, the schedule or events on the day.
For US airports see domestic check-in times.
