  • Services cover meet-and-assist, transit and transfer, boarding and disembarkation, seating, a carer travelling with you, service dogs, oxygen and accessible toilets.
  • Customers needing assistance, a wheelchair or a special request check in with an agent in some cases; see the Check-In page.

Pregnancy

  • After 28 weeks you need a certificate or letter from a registered medical practitioner or midwife stating the due date, whether the pregnancy is single or multiple, and that it is routine without complications. Carry it in your cabin baggage and show it on request.
  • Routine pregnancies on flights of 4 hours or more: up to the end of week 36 (single) or week 32 (multiple). Flights under 4 hours: end of week 40 (single) or week 36 (multiple).
  • Complications need medical clearance. After delivery, clearance is needed to travel within 7 days; infants cannot travel for 48 hours after delivery.
  • Qantas does not say that travel is safe at any point; ask your own doctor.

  2. Karen Bules26 February 2017
I have a CPap machine I need to bring. Do I take it as a carry-on or check it in ? And if I take it on the plane, does it count as my one carry-on? Any other special requirements related to this in going to Australia and New Zealand? I.e., doctors note etc.
    1. Answer

This can be allowed in cabin baggage provided this is to be used by the passenger during the flight. However, please do contact the airline to inform them about your special requirement well in time. If these is a need for documents to be provided during the check in at airport, the same can also be known from the airline local office.
