Qantas lets you check in with the Qantas App or online, or at the airport. Check-in closes at different times depending on the flight.

24 hoursbefore departure when app and online check-in open

30 minlatest check-in on most Qantas domestic flights (QF400 and above)

60 minlatest check-in on Qantas international flights

Opening times

App and online check-in open 24 hours before departure.
Airport check-in opens 2 hours before Australian domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights. Exceptions: Auckland from 3:30am; Los Angeles from 4:30pm for all flights; Dallas/Fort Worth, Delhi, London Heathrow, New York JFK, San Francisco and Vancouver 4 hours before.

Domestic: from 24 hours until 30 minutes before departure. International: from 24 hours until 90 minutes before.
You need the six-character booking reference. Eligibility depends on the operator of the first flight and whether another flight follows within 24 hours; some partner and codeshare itineraries must check in at the airport.
See an agent at the airport if you need assistance, are dropping off an unaccompanied minor, or are part of a large group.
If you checked in online, use the bag drop counter; self-service bag drop is at all domestic airports and at international terminals in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.

When does check-in open?

A day before departure online; 2 or 3 hours before at the airport.

When does it close for a domestic flight?

Usually 30 minutes before.

And internationally?

60 minutes before, and 90 minutes for the app or online.

  You have not mentioned cabin class. Free baggage allowance depends pm cabin class pf travel. It is 30 kg per passenger for economy class, 40 kg for premium economy and business class
