- You start at Koru Bronze. Once you earn enough points in any 12 months you move up immediately and get an end-of-tier date; unused benefits expire when you change tier.
- Qualifying flights: for Silver and Gold, at least 50% of the points must come from Air New Zealand flights, qualifying partner flights, eligible Star Alliance flights or Status Points Bonus. For Platinum and Black, 60% must come from Air New Zealand, qualifying partner flights or Status Points Bonus; Star Alliance flights count towards the total only.
- Points come from flights (enter your Koru number when booking) and from Airpoints credit cards, which count towards the total but not the qualifying-flight share.
- Benefits include priority service, lounge access, seat upgrades and extra baggage allowance.
