When you buy a ticket on IndiGo's website or app you may see two small charges on the payment page: a convenience fee and a booking fee. This article explains what IndiGo says about them.
Convenience fee
IndiGo's fee table lists one amount for payments made with a credit card, debit card, the mobile app or net banking, and a lower one for payments made by voucher. For rupee bookings the table shows 499 for the card, app and net banking group and 100 for vouchers. The same table gives amounts in many other currencies, so read the figure for your own currency there.
IndiGo adds an important warning: the fee varies with factors such as the type of fare and the type of journey. The exact amount for your booking is shown in the fare breakdown on the payment page, before you pay.
Booking fee
A separate booking fee is listed on the same page. For rupee bookings it is 350.
How to keep it low
- Compare the total on the payment page for different payment options. Only the voucher option carries the lower convenience fee.
- Look at the fare breakdown before you enter card details, since the fee is part of the total, not an extra at the end.
- Remember that add-ons, seats and baggage are charged separately from these two fees.
