Qatar Airways prices extra baggage in US dollars, and the way it counts your allowance decides which price table applies. The older version of this article listed online prepaid rates for every region pair. The airline has since reorganised its tables, so this update follows the structure on its additional baggage page. The prices below cover Qatar Airways' own flights only.
Which system applies to you
- Piece concept applies between Qatar and Africa or the Americas. You pay per extra bag.
- Weight concept applies on every other route. You pay per extra kilogram.
Exceptions exist on some routes. Your booking confirmation, Manage booking and the My Trips area of the app show the rule for your trip.
When to buy
- You pay less if you buy extra baggage more than six hours before departure, online, at a Qatar Airways office or through the contact centre.
- Inside that window you can still add baggage, from six hours until one hour before departure, at the airport office, the check-in desk or on the website, at the higher airport rates.

In Business and First, an extra bag up to 32 kg costs USD 130 (Africa and Qatar) or USD 255 (the other two columns). Extra bags up to 23 kg are not sold there as a separate item.
Weight concept: airport rates per kilogram
Rates are in US dollars per kilogram and depend on the two regions you fly between. A few examples from Qatar Airways' economy table:

Limits
- If your journey includes a narrow-body Airbus A320 or A321, you can add up to 10 extra pieces in each of Economy and Business.
- Journeys only on wide-body aircraft (A350, A380, Boeing 787 or 777) allow up to 20 extra pieces.

You can add baggage by visiting qatar airways website, clicking on Extra Baggage and then entering the required details.
I wish to verify my flight to Clark International Airport, Philippines with Qatar Airways this May 25th from Riyadh via Doha it says I am allowed a check in luggage of 45Kg in my Economy ticket (T). It also mention in Qatar online. Your prompt reply will be greatly appreciated.
May i please find out the rate of excess luggage per kg, for the flight going from Sydney to Lebanon, via Doha airport.
