This article originally gave IndiGo's seat prices and a very long list of excess baggage rates for each route. IndiGo has since replaced those with ranges and a smaller set of tables, so this update keeps the parts that are still published. Amounts are in rupees, include tax and apply to each passenger on each flight sector.
Free baggage on IndiGo
- Cabin: one hand bag up to 7 kg (115 cm total of length, width and height) plus one personal item up to 3 kg, such as a handbag or laptop bag.
- Checked, domestic: 15 kg per passenger on regular fares. Double or multi-seat bookings get an extra 10 kg. The Lite fare has no free checked bag.
- Checked, international: depends on the route. For example 20 kg for Bangkok, Bali, Kathmandu, Phuket and Male; 30 kg for most Gulf, Southeast Asian, Central Asian and UK or Amsterdam routes; 25 kg for Nairobi; 15 kg for Jaffna. IndiGo shows the exact allowance during booking.

If you do not pay for a seat you are given a free one at check-in. Stretch seats are included with IndiGoStretch fares.
Excess baggage: domestic
Buying weight in advance is much cheaper than paying at the airport. Pre-paid domestic slabs:

Weight bought at the airport costs much more per kilogram, and IndiGo's page gives that rate. Pre-paid excess baggage can be bought on the website or by phone up to 2 hours before departure.

Extra pieces and special items
- An additional checked piece costs 1,000 at the airport, or 800 if pre-booked (maximum two pieces). Weight charges apply on top.
- Sports equipment handling is 2,000 when pre-booked on domestic flights and 3,500 on international ones, against 2,500 and 4,000 at the airport.
- Special baggage fee at the airport: 2,500. Firearms handling: 5,500.
