This article once listed cities that KLM and Air France called "oil destinations". It was tied to the Flying Blue Petroleum card, a special card for people working in the oil and energy industry. We found no mention of that card on KLM's present Flying Blue pages, so we cannot confirm that the offer or the list still applies. We have removed the city list to avoid giving you a list that may be out of date.
If you work in oil and energy
Ask Flying Blue directly whether a corporate or industry arrangement exists for your employer. Many companies hold a corporate contract with the airlines that works through a travel manager and sits outside the public programme.
Flying Blue today
The public programme works with Miles for rewards and Experience Points (XP) for status. The levels and the XP needed, as KLM shows them now:
| Level | How to reach it | Examples of benefits |
|---|---|---|
| Explorer | Joining | Up to 4 Miles per euro spent on tickets |
| Silver | 100 XP | Priority check-in and boarding, free standard seat selection, one extra checked item on SkyTeam flights |
| Gold | 180 XP more | SkyTeam lounge access with a guest, SkyPriority benefits |
| Platinum | 300 XP more | Free seat options from booking, two free extra checked items on Air France and KLM flights |
| Ultimate | 900 UXP after Platinum | Air France and KLM lounges with up to eight guests, an assistant, upgrade vouchers |
Miles per euro rise from 4 at Explorer to 9 at Ultimate.

Earlier list
This is the list from the earlier version of this article. We could not confirm it on the airline's current pages, so check your own airport before you travel.
In recognition of the conrtibution of oil and energy industry, KLM and France recognize certain routes as Oil Destination routes. The airline offers special flyer status to passengers associated with oil and energy by providing them with Flying Blue Petroleum Card, a special priviledge card which can be used for earning and redeeming miles
