  • Points are counted in a collection year from 1 April to 31 March and return to zero on 31 March, but are added to your lifetime total. A new tier appears within 48 hours and runs to the end of the current membership year (30 April) and all of the following year.
  • Since 1 April 2025, tier points on British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia depend on spend, not distance. Bonus points, up to 900 a flight, vary with the cabin and fare you buy.
  • Points also come from British Airways Holidays packages, a BA American Express Premium Plus card, paid bags and seats, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel contributions.
  • Milestone rewards from 1 April 2027: 2,500 bonus Avios at 5,750 points, 4,000 at 12,000, and 5,000 at 17,000.
  • Only flights sold under a BA flight number count, whether the aircraft is BA's, a franchisee's or a partner's. Reward and discounted agency bookings do not count unless stated.
  • Points are credited up to three days after BA flights, seven days after partners, and 14 days after a holiday.
