Cabin baggage

• One piece of hand baggage up to 5 kg, including your laptop or ladies' purse, free of charge.
• Maximum size: height 40 cm, length 30 cm, width 15 cm (total 85 cm).
• Between 5 kg and 10 kg you pay the applicable excess baggage charge at the airport.
• Children have the same cabin baggage allowance as adults.
• Odd-sized baggage that does not fit the stated size is not allowed on the aircraft.
• Personal items you may carry in addition (subject to security rules): a lady's hand bag, an overcoat or wrap, a camera or binoculars, reading material for the flight, an infant's feed and carrying basket, a collapsible wheelchair, crutches or braces if you depend on them, a walking stick, a folding umbrella without a pointed edge, medicines needed in flight (such as an asthma inhaler), and a laptop or tablet.
• Liquids, gels and aerosols over 100 ml are not allowed in hand baggage, except medicines and inhalers with a prescription and baby food. They go in a clear re-sealable 1-litre bag and are screened. Duty-free liquids over 100 ml are not permitted if you have to pass security again while transferring.
• Power banks: hand baggage only, never in checked baggage. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is banned in all baggage.
• Kirpan: on flights within India on an Indian-registered aircraft, a kirpan up to 9 inches in total (blade up to 6 inches, handle up to 3 inches) may be carried in person. A longer one must go in checked baggage.

• No single piece may weigh more than 32 kg.
• Maximum size of a checked bag: height 80 cm, length 40 cm, width 150 cm (total 270 cm). The airline can refuse oversized baggage at check-in because of aircraft space.
• Students on a student fare ticket, with a valid student ID shown at booking, can carry an extra 10 kg (not on Kullu sectors).
• Infants: one collapsible stroller, carrycot or infant car seat, and one hand bag up to 5 kg. An infant without a seat has no free checked baggage.
• Sports, music and other equipment are charged at the normal excess baggage rate, with no special discount for sports, golf or angling kits.
• There is no provision to carry weapons or ammunition on ATR aircraft. Unauthorised satellite phones are not allowed.
• Pets are charged separately and do not count towards your allowance, at twice the current excess baggage rate of the sector.

Excess baggage

Does the price depend on when you pay?

• Domestic pre-paid excess baggage can be bought up to 4 hours before departure. It is for adults and children only, not infants, is non-refundable (refundable only if the airline cancels), and is available subject to availability.
• Pre-paid baggage is not available on all sectors to and from Kullu and on Agatti to Kochi (one way), because of load limits on the ATR aircraft.
• LKR charges follow the exchange rate (1 LKR = 0.25038 INR at the time of the policy) and can change.
