These rules cover flights flown by Aeroflot, and by its subsidiaries Aurora and Rossiya under the flight numbers Aeroflot lists. When a different airline flies, the main carrier on the route sets the rules.
Cabin baggage
- Economy and Comfort
- 1 piece up to 10 kg
- Business
- 1 piece up to 15 kg
The largest carry-on size in every cabin is 55 x 40 x 25 cm. All carry-on baggage must be shown at check-in and may be weighed.
Items you can carry in addition, free of charge
- A rucksack, handbag or briefcase up to 5 kg with total dimensions up to 80 cm.
- A flower bouquet, outer clothing, a stick umbrella, and a suit carried in a folding garment cover.
- Baby food for the flight, and a child carrying device (a bassinet, an under-2 restraint system, or a pram up to 42 x 50 x 20 cm). Not available to a child under 2 without their own seat.
- Medicine and dietary food for the flight.
- Crutches, canes, folding walkers and rollators, a collapsible wheelchair, detachable prostheses in a case, plus a portable oxygen concentrator of up to 55 x 40 x 20 cm.
- Duty-free goods in one sealed plastic bag, up to 115 cm in total dimensions.
Sports and musical items in the cabin
One of these may go in the cabin as your carry-on piece, within the weight limit for your cabin:
- One musical instrument up to 135 cm in total dimensions.
- One guitar over 135 cm; get clearance from the Contact Centre, an Aeroflot sales office or an agent 36 hours or more before departure. Cabin space for guitars is limited.
- One tennis or squash racket in a case, or a badminton set of two rackets and three shuttlecocks in one case.
An oversized carry-on item that does not fit in the cabin can go in the hold free of charge, provided it falls within your carry-on allowance.
Checked baggage
Aeroflot works on the piece system: the free allowance is a count of pieces, and the three dimensions of each piece added together must stay within 203 cm. Your ticket shows the count as 1PC or 2PC, or NIL when no bag is included.
- Business: Flex and Classic
- 2 pieces up to 32 kg each
- Business: Base
- 1 piece up to 32 kg
- Comfort: Flex
- 2 pieces up to 23 kg each
- Comfort: Classic
- 1 piece up to 23 kg
- Comfort: Base
- None
- Economy: Flex
- 2 pieces up to 23 kg each
- Economy: Classic and Saver
- 1 piece up to 23 kg
- Economy: Base
- None
- Economy: Shuttle (Moscow to St. Petersburg direct)
- None
Tickets bought with Aeroflot Bonus miles follow the fare family they were booked in. If any part of the journey is booked in Comfort Flex or Comfort, that allowance covers the whole route. If any part is booked in Base, Comfort or Economy fares without a free bag, no free bag applies on the whole route. The free allowance applies both ways up to your destination or the first stop of over 24 hours, provided Aeroflot operates every flight.
Special cases
- Aurora Q-400 flights: codeshare flights on Aurora Q-400 aircraft give one piece up to 23 kg on fares with a free bag, whatever the cabin.
- Flights to or from Cuba: each piece may weigh up to 32 kg.
- Flights SU 5950 to 5988 and flights with Pobeda: have their own rules, published separately by Aeroflot.
Aeroflot Bonus members
- Platinum, Infinite and Infinite Pro members: 2 extra pieces on all routes.
- Gold and Silver members: 1 extra piece.
- Basic Pro members: 1 piece when buying an Optimum or Maximum Economy fare.
Ask for the extra pieces at the check-in desk; the member has to be on the booking or show a valid card.
Children and infants
Children aged 2 to 12, and infants under 2 with their own seat, get the same free allowance as adults. An infant without a seat on a Base or Shuttle fare has no free baggage. On other fares the infant may check 1 bag up to 10 kg with the sum of three dimensions up to 115 cm. A wheelchair, a pushchair too big for the cabin, and an animal stroller for a pet in the cabin travel free whatever your allowance.
Combining baggage
Passengers travelling together (family, companions, colleagues) can ask at the same check-in desk to pool their baggage by weight, provided the total weight and piece count stay within the combined free allowance, no piece weighs over 32 kg and none passes 203 cm. A single passenger's several pieces can be pooled in the same way. Bags carried free for Bonus members or under sports equipment promotions cannot be pooled. Purchased pieces cannot be pooled with free ones.
Excess weight, heavy bags and oversized bags
- Heavy baggage: a piece of 32 to 50 kg is charged as a separate piece, whatever your free allowance or Bonus status.
- Oversized baggage: a piece with the sum of three dimensions over 203 cm is charged the same way.
- Approval: a heavy or oversized bag needs Aeroflot's approval 36 hours or more before departure (72 hours for Moscow to Anadyr flights).
- Extra pieces and excess weight: taken only when the aircraft has spare baggage capacity. Aeroflot publishes these fares only as PDF files, so no prices are listed here. Baggage can also be pre-purchased on aeroflot.ru under Prepaid Baggage.
Sports and special baggage
These count as one piece of your free allowance, whatever their dimensions, but oversized sports equipment needs prior approval. If they are carried on top of the free allowance, or on a Base fare, they are charged as an extra baggage piece.
- Skiing: one pair of skis with poles in a case and/or one bag holding boots, helmet and goggles. Snowboard: one board in a case plus one bag holding boots, helmet and goggles.

So do I have to give extra charge for it or it will be granted and if not how much I have to pay for that extra weight?
Airlines do not leave any chance of earning more money. So, you are very likely to be charged. We can give an estimate of about INR 8500 to INR 13500 to be charged till 32 kg weight of 1 check in bag (that is more than 23 kg but up to 32 kg)
No, if you carry one more check in bag, it will be charged for. For weight more than 23 kg and up to 32 kg of one check in baggage, Rs 13365.00 is chargeable.

thanks
If the ticket booked in only one and from PEK to LYS with SVO being the intermediate connection, baggage allowance will remain same if the airline is same- Aeroflot. However, if the airlines are different, then there can be a change in baggage allowance. You have to tell us which is the other carrier, if any, and which leg of flight it is operating in order to know the right allowance.

3.in case allowed , total weight of all three items should be 7/10kgs or purse weight is not counted?
Cabin bag shall be of 10 kg free allowance as per Aeroflot rules for economy class passengers. Please cross check with the agency which booked ticket. We think they are wrong on this. Generally, airlines do allow 1 laptop in addition to cabin baggage allowance. Carrying 1 purse is also allowed but it shall be small. We suggest that you keep 1 cabin bag and 1 laptop bag weight total at 10 kg. Purse can be in addition to that.
We are not aware of any offer of student allowance from Aeroflot.
