This article was written in 2018 and gave Alaska Airlines' carry-on and checked bag fees as they stood then. We tried to check those figures against Alaska's website for this update, but alaskaair.com refuses requests from automated readers and returned an error page, so we could not confirm any current amount. Rather than leave figures that may now be wrong, we have removed them.
Where to find the current rules
- Open Alaska baggage overview on Alaska's own site and read the table for your fare and route.
- Check the same page again just before you fly, because airlines change fees without notice.
- If a price on the booking page differs from what you read, the booking page is the one that applies.
What this means for you
Treat any number you have seen for Alaska in older articles, including the earlier version of this one, as unconfirmed. We will replace this note with a full guide when we can read Alaska's current pages.
