Etihad Airways Frequent Flyer Program

Etihad Guest is the frequent flyer program of the Etihad Airlines. You can be an Etihad Guest by simply filling out the registration form.

Earning the Miles:

You will be earning the Etihad Guest Miles (EGMs) every time you fly with Etihad or its partner airlines or spend with the non-airline partners. The non-airline partners are hotels, financial companies, car rental companies, Co branded cards, shopping, leisure and lifestyle companies, telecom companies, promotional activities and through the Earn Shop and the Earn Mall avenues. EGMs earned depend on cabin and fare class traveled. Earning ratio is the number of EGMs earned per 100 miles flown.

For Coral Economy class passengers, this earning ratio will be 50, 75 and 100% depending on whether fare class traveled is E, U, V, L, Q or M, K or H, B, Y respectively. Similarly, Pearl business class passengers will have earning ratio of 130 and 175% depending upon fare class of W,D or C, J. Diamond First Class traveler get to earn the ratio of 180 and 250% for fare classes of R and A,F respectively.

It shall further be noted that the Silver, Gold and Gold Elite Tier Members also get an additional Tier bonus of 25%, 50% and 75% on total distance flown. Pearl Business Class and Diamond First Class travelers get 50% and 100% cabin bonus on total distance of flight respectively as well.

The difference between the Tier Bonus and the Guest Miles earned is that the former are counted only towards determining the level of membership and these have nothing to do with the rewards, which are based exclusively on Guest Miles.

Etihad ties up with Rev Worldwide and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank to offer reloadable Etihad Guest card. The main attraction of the card is 'walletplus' feature which will permit members to earn 1 Guest mile for every 2 USD spent in UAE and for every 2 USD spent elsewhere. It will also allow users to use it globally at 2.1 million ATMs where VISA card is accepted. Another feature that has been introduced for the first time is that facility of locking in the exchange rate is provided for transfering funds to a foreign currency wallet. The funds in walletplus can be converted into 11 currencies. It is also a smartphone friendly application. Further, the funds in the wallet are totally secure.

Your miles would be known by you only by logging in at .

Yes, you can use these miles to get excess baggage allowance and for flight upgrades to business class. To know how much of luggage you can carry extra, please enter the details at: .

For 2 extra bags, you would need 38,888 miles from Abu Dhabi to Chicago.

You can also upgrade your class of travel but for this to happen, you need to have sufficient miles in your account. From AD to Chicago, miles required are:

From Coral Economy to Pearl Business

56200 Etihad Guest miles if booked in Y,B,H,K,M,Q classes.

70250 Etihad Guest miles if booked in L,U,V,E classes

You can check this at :

Also, you are required to contact the Etihad Guest Service Centres for the same. Upgrades can also be had at the airport check in counters provided there are sufficient miles in your account, there is sufficient time and there is a seat available. It would be best to secure it online well before your travel date.
